Training
Trainees from Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology and
Psychiatric Social work who are posted in unit IV (PG students- MD & DPM
trainees) attend the Perinatal Psychiatry Outpatient every Friday and are also posted
for one month in the Inpatient Mother Baby ward.

- Clinical Assessment of Perinatal Psychiatric syndromes
- Pre Pregnancy Counselling for women with pre existing psychiatric problems and those with a past history of postpartum psychosis
- Risk Assessment for infant harm and self harm
- Mother Infant bonding assessments and interventions
- Use of Psychotropic Medication in the perinatal period
- Infant Assessment
- Regular workshops & training programs are held to provide education and awareness about Perinatal Psychiatry. Professionals who can benefit include doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, pediatricians and obstetricians. Please contact us for arranging a training program.
